The hockey section is part of Christchurch Ladies' club that also includes the netball and footlighters theatre group. Christchurch Ladies' hockey section was formed in 1948 by Almena Theobald from former pupils of Christchurch School for Girls, Ipswich. It became an independent club when the school closed in 1964.
